"We know that moving into a new home can be both an exciting and overwhelming experience, especially for young people with limited support networks. Thanks to Fine & Country, we can provide not just practical essentials but also small comforts that make a house feel like a home. This initiative is about more than just items; it’s an extension of our support, helping to build stability, independence and a fresh start."

A transformative new initiative is set to make a lasting impact on the lives of five young people moving into their own homes, thanks to generous funding from the Fine & Country Foundation. The funding will enable the provision of essential Home Support Bundles, ensuring young people have the fundamental resources needed to establish a safe, warm, and comfortable home.

At the heart of this initiative is our cornerstone Wellbeing Support service. This project offers bespoke support facilitated by skilled mental health practitioners who work closely with young people to set goals and take action in key areas of their lives. Whether it’s accessing education or employment, changing unhealthy behaviours, securing benefits, or finding safe housing, Wellbeing Support is committed to empowering young people on their journey to independence.

However, securing housing is only part of the challenge. With the ongoing cost of living crisis and the high costs associated with deposits and fees, many young people lack the financial means to turn a house into a home. That’s where the Home Support Bundles come in.

Designed to celebrate and support young people moving into their new homes, these bundles include energy-efficient essentials such as LED light bulbs, a slow cooker with a recipe book, a heated blanket, and a kettle with cost-effective home-running tips. The packs also contain practical items like washing-up liquid and toilet paper, as well as comforting touches such as a scented candle, hot chocolate, and biscuits—ensuring young people not only have what they need but also feel welcomed and cared for in their new space.

This funding from the Fine & Country Foundation makes a meaningful difference, bridging the gap between securing a home and creating a sustainable, comfortable living environment. We are deeply grateful for their support in helping young people build stable, independent futures.
