Funding Wins: Empowering Young Lives with Vital Support & Services

Writer's picture: RekindleRekindle

Over the last couple of months, we have successfully secured the following grants to support the delivery of our services and activities:

We would like to thank the Fine and Country Foundation and our nominating office Fine & Country Mid Wales for granting our charity £750 which will be used to provide new home starter packages directly to our beneficiaries. The packages will include items such as a slow cooker, energy efficient light bulbs and a heated blanket to ensure young people are kept warm in face of the cost-of-living crisis.

We are delighted to have received our first ever funding from the National Lottery – Awards for All fund dedicated to support us delivering group, drop-in support sessions and activities from our premises in the heart of Newtown. The funding allows us to open our doors to those in need of a warm safe space where they can access our mental health support services, meet others, and form friendships in a welcoming and non-judgmental environment. The project will cover a 12-month period and will support the premises and staff costs for more than three hours every week.

We have gratefully received £2,500 from Arnold Clark Cost of Living Support Fund for which we applied to contribute towards our running costs. This funding allows us to continue to operate from our premises in Newtown providing vital mental health support to 16–25-year-olds.

Enabling us to ensure our premises meet the needs of our community, Screwfix Foundation have granted Rekindle £5,650 to cover the costs of our one-to-one therapy room refurbishments to ensure a safe and confidential space for every young person who uses our services. We are enormously grateful for their support and allowing us to continue to deliver life changing services to our community.

Local Engagement Pilot Initiatives – Small Grant Scheme Welsh Government administered through Powys County Council and Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO)

We have been successful in securing funding to deliver an afternoon trip for ten young people to take part in horse riding. The funding covers the costs of the activity, transport and lunch. This activity will provide opportunity for those who may not usually have access to such an activity. It will be inclusive, build confidence and allow participants to meet other young people, create friendships and tackle loneliness and isolation.

NHS National Suicide and Self-harm Prevention Programme – Small Grant Funding

We have been awarded £2,889 to deliver awareness raising content and activities around suicide and self-harm, specifically sharing knowledge of sign-posting and services available to support young people who are experiencing thoughts of suicide and self-harm.
