It’s been a season to remember for young people supported by us, with a packed programme of activities ranging from the energetic to the educational – and everything in between.
Over the past quarter, participants have enjoyed rolling a few strikes at the bowling alley, testing their knowledge in lively quizzes, and even taking part in a litter hunt challenge that turned helping the community into a fun competition. The Royal Welsh Show also proved a highlight, giving young people the chance to soak up one of Wales’ biggest cultural events.
Alongside the fun, important wellbeing topics were tackled head-on. Sessions on sexual health, body confidence, and self-care provided young people with vital knowledge and support in a safe, welcoming environment.
Attendance across the summer has been strong, with young people showing up, taking part, and making memories together. With the current programme drawing to a close, attention is now turning to September, when a brand-new line-up of sessions will launch – and for the first time, the programme will also extend to Welshpool.
Service Delivery Manager Fleur Thompson said: “It’s been brilliant to see so many young people getting involved in such a wide variety of activities – from having fun to learning life skills. We’re excited to welcome even more young people in Welshpool from September, and we can’t wait to get started on the next chapter.”
With a strong summer behind almost behind us and an expanded future ahead, it looks like the only way is up – and maybe another strike at the bowling alley, too.
